Mechanically
Interlocking Tape Products
This
tape feeder precisely feeds both through hole and SMT taped
odd form components packaged on any GPAX carrier.
Flexible to feed both flat and embossed GPAX EIA carrier widths,
up to 84mm pitch, applicable for a wide range of components.
Feeders are tape width specific from 44mm to 152mm. The GPAX
UltraFlex Feeder is the standard tape feeding product to use
for your odd form automation requirements.
The
GPAX 4008 Loader is a semi-automatic, free standing taping machine
used to manually load components onto GPAX carriers securing
them onto the carrier
with mechanically interlocking StitchLock cover tape. The index
rate is 4800 per hour and duration is operator controlled using
a foot pedal. The GPAX 4008 Loader handles the complete range
of carrier widths from 38.1mm to 152mm (1.5" to 6.0")
including EIA standard widths. It includes three (3) motorized
reel handlers to continuously maintain proper tape tension throughout
the packaging processs - one each for input of carrier and StitchLock
cover tape and one for the output of packaged component reels.
A complete Programmable Logic Controller system, foot switch,
standard 6 ft. (1.8m) long 3 wire power cord and one (1) set
of complete installation and operation manuals included. Packed
in a wooden crate suitable for export shipment.
GPAX
has three variations of staple
spliceable EIA standard mechanically interlocking
tapes. 1)
Semi-Pocket: A precision embossed carrier for
SMT or through-hole components. Parts are acquired using vacuum
nozzles or grippers. Vision assist is necessary. 2) ThruPAX:
A flat carrier with prepunched holes for accurate component
lead or board lock post registration, for use with a gripper
(end effector). Vision assist is not necessary as parts
are auto-insertable directly from the carrier. 3) FlatPAX:
A full depth precision embossed pocket carrier to package low
profile parts using flat mechanically interlocking cover. FlatPAX
carrier can also be used with existing installed base OEM feeders
such as a Fuji, Hover-Davis (Fuji IP and QP compatible), Panasonic,
Universal Instruments, and Siemens (the cover tape is unstitched
with a wedge-like device provided by GPAX at no charge. It attaches
to any feeder with two screws and does not need to be removed.
Documentation is provided). 4)
SnapPAX:
A precision full pocket embossed carrier used to package ultra
thin parts that would otherwise "shingle" between
pockets. Parts as thin as 0.05mm (0.002") can be packaged.
The part is captured at a predetermined elevation in the pocket
by additional tabs in the cover tape that interlock with designed
features in the carrier. This prevents the part from floating
to the surface of the carrier and shingling to the next pocket.
Carrier is spliceable and reuseable. Candidate parts are flex
circuits, lead frames, thin metal stampings, etc.
